Когда я начала готовить этот фрагмент Махабхараты (в КИ это 1.94.31-36) для поста о Махабхарате конкани, то не планировала выносить его в отдельный пост. Однако оказалось, что у Датта он чуть расширен по сравнению с критическим изданием - вместо первой шлоки этого фрагмента в КИ у Датта две шлоки. Версию КИ я написала в посте про Махабхарату конкани (потому что автор книги об этой Махабхарате в ней ссылается именно на критическое издание санскритской Махабхараты), а для Бхараты-24 решила взять версию Датта.

Ganga said, “O king, here is the eighth son whom you begot on me before. O best of men, he is supreme among experts in all weapons.
O great king, accept this son who has been reared by me. O best of men, take him and bring him home, O lord!
With Vasishtha himself he has studied the Vedas with their branches. He is valorous and skillful in the use of all weapons. He is a great bowman, equal in battle to the king of the celestials.
O descendant of Bharata, whatever science is known to Ushana, whom both the celestials and the asuras always esteem, this boy knows completely.
Likewise, whatever science is known to Angirasa’s son, to whom the celestials and the asuras bow, your son of mighty arms and high soul has also mastered entirely, with its main and minor branches. Whatever weapon is known to Jamadagni’s son Rama, the powerful and invincible rishi, he too has mastered. He is a great bowman well versed in the duties of a king, O king. He is a hero, O hero. He is your own son whom I bestowed on you. Take him home!”

Отмечу, что вот именно из этого фрагмента следует только то, что Бхишма учился у Васиштхи. То, что он был учеником Парашурамы, отсюда никак не следует. Я бы даже сказала, что скорее не следует - здесь Парашурама просто идет в одном ряду с Шукрачарьей и Брихаспати как обладатель великих знаний, которые Бхишма тоже освоил.
